We have enjoyed our tour of Sri lanka and now are back to the routine in India. I would like to share some comments/experiences with you for your future reference and evaluations. First, the Chauffer cum guide Nishantha was excellent. His overall services, temperament and dedication to work are excellent and highly recommendable. He is a gem of a person, always smiling and always ready to adjust and fulfill our needs. The Kandy City Hotel has excellent rooms, dining facilities and services. In spite of the hustle bustle of the downtown city area, once you are inside the hotel, the ambience is peaceful and pleasant. The reception and restaurant staff was very courteous. The only suggestion is that the restaurant is not Air Conditioned and becomes stuffy. So provision of A.C. in the restaurant is suggested. The Royal View, Nuwara Eliya has a good location near the Gregory lake, and the view of the lake is available only from the balcony. The service and dining facility and food are excellent, but even the superior room provided to us was quite small. The bathroom was stinking. Overall experience is good. The TaproSpa, Beruwala is a well-developed property, but the maintenance and overall up-keep and the front desk services requires much to be improved. The view of the sea-front from the room was good. The common wash rooms are dirty, the showers in the swimming changing rooms are not in working condition and the swimming pool is not properly cleaned and maintained. The restaurant facility and staff are good. On our second day, we handed over the room keys at 8.30 am for cleaning, but when we returned from sightseeing at 4 pm, the room was not cleaned! This was in spite of the fact that only 5 rooms were occupied in the entire hotel on that day! The Faiview Hotel, Colombo is the best of the lot. The rooms are very spacious, and all the facilities and services, breakfast etc. very good. The ocean view from the room was excellent. Clearly this place is the winner! The dinner at Shanmuga’s Restaurant which is very close to the hotel was excellent. In sightseeing, we quite enjoyed the Pinnewala Elephant Orphanage, Tooth Relic Temple, Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, Hanuman Temple, Nuwara Eliya Lake, Seetha Amman Temple, water falls, Galle fort, Boat Ride in the Madu River in Balapiya and Turtle Hatchery. I will send you some pictures of our tour by separate mail. I also want to send some photos to Nishantha, so please arrange to send me his Email ID. My wife Avani and daughter Anuja join me in thanking you for taking immaculate care of all our travel arrangements and making our Sri lanka tour such a pleasant and memorable experience.
